About the event
Join us for a special Black History Month Celebration bringing together communities and organisations from across Derbyshire.
The event will honour people who made history within our local emergency services, including the first Black firefighter to serve with Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service in the early 1980s, as well as one of the first Black police constables serving during the same period.
Throughout the day, there will also be opportunities to learn more about equality, diversity and inclusion, positive action, community engagement, recruitment opportunities and support networks.
ACCA will be attending alongside The Race Network at Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, Links CVS Chesterfield and Derbyshire Constabulary.
