About the event
Join ACCA and the Spencer family for a special Blue Plaque unveiling recognising the contribution of Wilson and Vericka Spencer to Chesterfield’s Black community.
As members of the Windrush generation, Wilson and Vericka Spencer played an important role within Chesterfield’s Black community during the 1960s and 1970s. This plaque will help preserve their contribution and ensure their story is remembered for future generations.
The occasion will be attended by guests including Don Spencer, Katie Spencer, the Mayor of Chesterfield, Cllr Tricia Gilby, Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, and Roger McKenzie.
